FINCA FOR SALE IN YAIZA In the southern town of Yaiza, at the foot of the Lomo del Cura (the one that, according to tradition, the parish priest Andrés Lorenzo Curbelo climbed on September 1, 1730 to see the beginning of the eruptions), is one of the best examples of 19th century manor houses that are preserved in Lanzarote.
This magnificent mansion was built in the middle of the 19th century by Ruperto Vieyra y Sousa, a merchant of Portuguese descent born in Las Palmas who, apparently, had settled in Lanzarote attracted by the bar trade, marrying Joaquina Pereyra de Armas.
The two-storey house of considerable dimensions, which needs a bit of reform, presents an imposing setback façade in which its lateral bodies stand out like towers. An elaborate gate isolates the house from the outside, giving way to a front garden with seven sash windows, an unusual typology on the island. In the center of the courtyard there was a fountain that, according to the historian Agustín de la Hoz, made this the first house in Lanzarote to have running water.
With spectacular views of the national park and built on a 5,343 m2 farm, this peculiar and beautiful property has many possibilities, such as being recovered as a hotel or rural house, due to its charm and unique building, conservative of the time in the Canary Islands.
In addition to the main building, there are 7 annexed apartments, a warehouse, 2 cisterns and a tennis court.
